How to know more about SDMX?
Directorate B and the Eurostat Training team are organising new training courses on SDMX (Statistical Data and Metadata eXchange).

A two-day course on SDMX Basics will take place on 8-9 March. This course is particularly addressed to statisticians in charge of managing data transmissions and to all those who want to have a general and simple overview of this international standard for exchanging and sharing statistics. The programme includes an introduction to the SDMX information model describing data and metadata structures, the SDMX registry and examples of data transmission and sharing.

A four-day advanced course for IT experts in Java is scheduled for 12-16 March, and one for .NET experts is scheduled for 26-30 March. These sessions are focused on the SDMX Reference Infrastructure and its set of tools.

Further details are available on the Eurostat SDMX Info Space.

« on: September 19, 2011, 10:56:33 PM »
Eurostat is organising the following training sessions for statisticians and for IT developers during the period October-December 2011.

1) SDMX Basics (for statisticians and IT staff)
The course duration is two days – beginning Thursday 27 October 2011 at 9:15 and ending Friday 28 October at 16:15 – in Luxembourg, BECH Building, rue Alphonse Weicker, 5.
The training session is aimed at people who are or will be in charge of managing SDMX-based transmission and dissemination of data and metadata, possibly using existing tools. For this reason, the course is also recommended as an introduction to SDMX for people who intend to follow the advanced course "SDMX for IT developers".

2) SDMX Advanced course (for IT developers)
Eurostat is organising two sessions for IT developers lasting 2 ½ days each. Both courses will be held in the training room of Eurostat, BECH A2/45, in Luxembourg, rue Alphonse Weicker, 5.
The first course is directed at JAVA programmers: it begins on Monday 7 November at 14:00 and ends on Friday 11 November at 12:45.
The second course is directed at .NET programmers: it begins on Monday 28 November at 14:00 and ends on Friday 2 December at 12:45.

More details can be found on the Eurostat's SDMX Wiki.
Participation is free of charge. As the number of places is limited, they will be reserved on a first come – first served basis.
